Caloundra Hospital Auxiliary impact

Members of Caloundra Hospital Auxiliary have played an important role in the hospital for over 30 years. Fundraising is now achieved through the operation of an op shop and café, both of which are located on the Caloundra Health Service premises.

Our President Mrs Claudine Hagan had the following to say about our involvement with supporting the Palliative Care Unit.

“Being able to help terminally ill patients see out the final chapter of their lives in a bright and friendly environment with dignity and with love is so rewarding,” Ms Hagan said.

Further support by means of a monthly donation to the Centre for Living has enabled home based palliative care patients to receive the necessary care they require.

The auxiliary has provided assistance with equipment in the following areas of the hospital: Renal, Ophthalmology, Child Protection Liaison Unit, Dental Clinic and Rehabilitation.
